Our Angel Bears, Support and keepsakes for pregnancy loss
Our Angel Bears is a small group of parents, partners and friends who want to help bereaved families going through the heartbreak of pregnancy, infant and child loss. Most members of our team have suffered multiple types of losses and we know how broken you must feel. Whether your loss was as recent as yesterday or 60 years ago we hope you can find some comfort in our resources.
Our purpose is to offer online emotional support to grieving families who have angels lost to miscarriage, preterm birth, Compassionate induction (also known as TFMR) stillbirth, neonatal deaths, SIDS, accident or illness. We are not trained professionals in grief or bereavement, however, we aim to bring together organizations who can offer this support and we can signpost you as appropriate.
Working to stop group B Strep infection in babies
Group B Strep Support is a UK charity working to stop group B Strep infection in babies. Group B Strep (GBS or Strep B) is a bacteria carried without symptoms by 2-4 in every 10 women in the UK. Carrying GBS is not harmful, but it can affect a baby around the time of birth, causing serious infections like sepsis, pneumonia and meningitis. Most group B Strep infections in newborn babies are preventable, but the NHS doesn’t routinely test pregnant women for GBS. Find out more about GBS at gbss.org.uk
Child Bereavement UK
Child Bereavement UK helps children and young people (up to age 25), parents, and families, to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. We also provide training to professionals, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.
