What is NIPT?<\/h2>\n

A Non-Invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT) is a simple blood test, taken from the mother, from as early as 10 weeks into pregnancy. The test picks up the baby\u2019s DNA within the mother\u2019s bloodstream, and, once it is analysed, this DNA can reveal a treasure trove of important information about your baby.<\/p>\n

The Future Health NIPT identifies the probable presence of conditions such as Down\u2019s, Edwards\u2019 and Patau\u2019s Syndromes, as well as telling you the probable sex of your baby (optional). Most of our customers also opt to have a Reassurance Scan alongside NIPT, to check on baby\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

At Hey Baby 4D Sutton we offer 3 different NIPT options – NIPT Test Only*, NIPT and Reassurance Scan and, NIPT+ and Reassurance Scan.<\/p>\n

    Who is NIPT for? <\/h2>\nAnyone and everyone who is expecting a baby!** . NIPT is a commonly performed screening test normally carried out at 10 weeks gestation, but not routinely offered by the NHS.     What is the process?<\/h2>\nThe NIPT process is like a routine blood test and is carried out by a qualified phlebotomist. Your appointment includes a reassurance scan by a qualified and experienced sonographer.     What if the test finds something?<\/h2>\nIf the test shows that any of the conditions may be present, we will arrange for a Genetic Counsellor to contact you to discuss the results. Genetic Counsellors are specially trained professionals who will explain exactly what the results mean and talk through all the options available to you with total sensitivity and empathy.     How do I book a NIPT Test?<\/h2>\n

    You can book your NIPT test online via our website, or you can give our friendly team a call to discuss your options and ask any questions you may have.<\/p>\n

    * A diagnostic scan must have been carried out prior to having an NIPT. If you opt for the test only NIPT, we require you to provide us with a scan report relating to the pregnancy. This is to confirm the gestational date.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    ** You are a recipient of an organ or bone marrow transplant.<\/strong>
    You have received any treatment involving the transfusion of heterologous cells in the last 12 months, for example, a white cell blood transfusion or stem cell therapy.<\/strong>
    You have cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n
