Preparing for your early Reassurance scan

You must attend your routine scans with the NHS.

You can prepare for your early reassurance scan by ensuring that you are properly hydrated in the 24 hours before your appointment. Please arrive with a full bladder.

It is sometimes necessary during the earlier stages of pregnancy to offer an internal scan. This is because it can be difficult to see the fetus via the abdomen at this stage. Many factors influence this (including hydration). Please ensure you arrive for your scan with a full bladder. As with all of our scans, you have the right to stop the procedure at any time.

The 54 George Street, Hove where our clinic is located a pedestrian-friendly high street just off Church Road, making it easy to reach whether you’re travelling by car, bus, train or on foot.

Travelling By Car 🚗

We are easy to reach via the A259 (Kingsway), A270 (Old Shoreham Road), and key local routes including Church Road, Blatchington Road, Sackville Road, Goldstone Villas, Holland Road and Western Road, all of which lead directly into central Hove and George Street.

Several public car parks are within a short walk, including:

• Many On-Road paid parking’s using the app “PayByPhone” (1–2 minutes’ walk)
• Norton Road Car Park (5-7 minutes’ walk)

There is also a Tesco supermarket car park nearby, which some visitors choose to use independently. Please note that this is a privately managed car park with its own parking rules and time limits.

Travelling By Train 🚆

Hove Station is approximately a 10-minute walk from our clinic. Regular trains run from Brighton, Shoreham-by-Sea, Worthing, Lewes, and across East Sussex.

Travelling  By Bus 🚌

Frequent bus services stop on Church Road and Blatchington Road, just a short walk from George Street. Routes serving the area include services from:

• Portslade
• Shoreham-by-Sea
• Saltdean & Rottingdean
• Peacehaven & Newhaven
• Lewes & Eastbourne (via connecting routes)
