Our early reassurance scan is designed to check the wellbeing of your baby and provide you with peace of mind from as early as 6 weeks gestation, through to 14 weeks. We always aim to provide you with a friendly experience, whilst only ever performing your scan by a qualified, experienced, and registered obstetric sonographer.
This scan is initially performed transabdominally. A transvaginal probe is also available for use where necessary, more likely before 8 weeks.
Scan length: approx. 10 minutes
Appointment duration: 15 minutes

Preparing for your early reassurance scan
You can prepare for your early reassurance scan by ensuring that you are properly hydrated in the 24 hours before your appointment. Please arrive with a full bladder.
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete your paperwork
Please bring your pregnancy notes with you. We may not need them, but it is helpful if our qualified sonographers need to refer to them at any stage during your early reassurance scan.
It is sometimes necessary during the earlier stages of pregnancy to offer an internal scan. This is because it can be difficult to see the fetus via the abdomen at this stage. Many factors influence this (including hydration). Please ensure you arrive for your scan with a full bladder. As with all of our scans, you have the right to refuse or stop the procedure at any time.

Finding Hey Baby 4D Radcliffe
Hey Baby Radcliffe is situated opposite the Piazza on Dale Street with free parking behind the clinic. There is free on-road parking available outside the clinic, including a disabled space directly outside the front entrance.
Travelling by bus
We are a short distance from a bus terminus on Dale Street with routes out to Bolton and Bury. Specific bus routes covered include numbers 98, 512, 513, 524, 886, 890 and 896.
Travelling by car
We have parking directly outside the clinic. We are easily accessible from the A667, A56, and the A665.
Travelling by tram
We are 5 minutes’ walk from the Radcliffe tram stop.
