The primary objective of this scan is to check the wellbeing of your baby.
Available from 24 through to 30 weeks of your pregnancy. You will receive the full 4D experience and memories to treasure for a lifetime! We always aim to provide you with a fun and friendly experience, whilst only ever performing your scan by a qualified, experienced, and registered obstetric sonographer.
Scan length: approx. 10 minutes
Appointment duration: 15 minutes
What’s included with your Wellbeing & 4D Baby Scan:
- 15 exclusive minutes with our qualified sonographer where you can ask any questions you like!
- Optimal gestation for anterior placenta is 24-28 weeks
- Locate your pregnancy
- See & hear your baby’s heartbeat
- Check your baby’s presentation
- Estimate foetal weight
- A wellbeing check will be performed to review your baby’s progress
- Receive a scan report & wellbeing form
- Digital Download of all images and scan video
- 2 x prints
Multiple pregnancies: A surcharge of £15 is applicable on any scan with multiple pregnancies.

Rescans:
If we are unable to obtain clear 4D images, we may offer you one free rescan at a later date*. Rescans will not be offered after 30 weeks of pregnancy and therefore we recommend that you plan your 4D scan before 28 weeks wherever possible so that we can accommodate a rescan if required.
Please note:
- We are only able to provide scans to customers over the age of 18
- We recommend coming in for the 4D scan at around 26 weeks’ gestation for the best possible images
- The video recording has no audio capability
- We have male sonographers working in our clinic. A chaperone service is available free of charge – please let us know if you’d like one when you arrive for your appointment

You must still attend your 20 week scan with the NHS.
Preparing for your 4D Baby Scan
You can prepare for your Wellbeing & 4D Baby Scan by ensuring that you are properly hydrated in the 24 hours leading up to your appointment. You don’t need to arrive with a full bladder, but we do ask that it’s not completely empty.
Please bring your pregnancy notes with you. We may not need them, but it is helpful if our qualified Sonographers need to refer to them at any stage during your scan.
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete your paperwork

Finding Hey Baby 4D Northampton
Hey Baby 4D Northampton is a 25 minute walk or a 10 minute drive from the Town Centre and is accessible by public transport.
If you’re travelling by car, leave at junction 15 of the M1 and follow the A45 until you reach the A428. We are located 3 minutes away from Northampton General Hospital. If you’re travelling by bus from Northampton town centre, the number 5 Southfields stops on Alfred Street, which is a 6-minute walk from the clinic.
