Reassurance Scan & Pregnancy Health Blood Test

£179

Get peace of mind in early pregnancy with our combined package, which includes an early reassurance scan and a comprehensive pregnancy health blood test. From as early as 6 weeks, our scan checks your baby’s wellbeing, carried out by experienced obstetric sonographers in a friendly, supportive environment.

Alongside this, the blood test assesses key hormones and nutrients—like FSH, LH, oestradiol, prolactin, thyroid function, and vitamin D—to give vital insights into your reproductive health. Ideal for early pregnancy or preconception planning, this package helps identify any issues early and supports a healthier pregnancy journey for both you and your baby.

Scan length: 15 minutes
Appointment duration: 30 minutes

Includes Free Gift: After booking your scan, you’ll have the option to receive an exclusive gift — a FREE Newborn Photography session with our trusted partners at Baby Art Studios. This special offer is available only to valued Hey Baby 4D Luton clients, in celebration of this exciting time in your journey.

Pregnancy Health Blood Test

This blood test checks 6 essential biomarkers to support your reproductive and overall health:

  • Hormone Levels – FSH, LH, oestradiol, and prolactin help assess fertility and hormonal balance.
  • Thyroid Function – TSH is measured to ensure healthy thyroid activity, crucial for pregnancy.
  • Vitamin D – Vital for immune support, bone health, and fetal development.

Results: Returned within 2–3 working days with a doctor’s summary.

Before your appointment:

  • Book your test between 6am–10am.
  • Avoid biotin, supplements, exercise, sexual activity, nipple stimulation, and heavy meals beforehand.

Pregnancy Health Blood Test

What to Expect:

  • Our experienced phlebotomist will ask you to uncover one arm (please wear loose clothing).
  • A tourniquet will be placed around your upper arm to make your veins easier to access.
  • A small sample of blood (around 8ml) will be drawn into special tubes using a fine needle.
  • A plaster will be applied to the site—this can be removed after a couple of hours.
  • Your sample is then posted to our partner laboratory for analysis.
  • Results will be available within 2–3 working days and include a doctor’s overview.

If you’re nervous about needles:

We understand this can be a worry for some. Our team is kind, skilled, and here to help. Please let us know how you’re feeling, and we’ll take extra care to make you comfortable.

If we can’t get a sample:

This is rare, but if we’re unable to collect your blood sample (due to hydration, temperature, or other factors), we’ll offer you a free follow-up appointment to try again.

Before Your Blood Test:

  • Hydrate well the day before and on the day of your appointment to make it easier to draw blood.
  • Avoid caffeine and stay warm—both help your veins stay more visible.
  • Wear loose clothing for easy access to your arm.
  • Let us know if you’re taking blood thinners or any medication.
  • Avoid biotin supplements for two days beforehand and any vitamin/mineral supplements 24 hours prior.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise, sexual activity, nipple stimulation, or heavy meals for 48 hours before the test.
  • If you have periods, ideally take this test 2–5 days after the start of your cycle.
  • Book your appointment between 6am and 10am for best accuracy.

Reassurance Ultrasound Scan

Preparing for your scan

You can prepare for your Late Reassurance Scan by ensuring that you are properly hydrated in the 24 hours leading up to your scan. Please also ensure you arrive at the clinic with a full bladder.

Please bring your pregnancy notes with you. We may not need them, but it is helpful if our qualified sonographers need to refer to them at any stage during your pregnancy scan.

Additional images, digital downloads of your scan images and a variety of products are available at Hey Baby 4D Luton to purchase on the day.
