NIPT & Reassurance Scan

Late Reassurance Scan

NIPT & Reassurance Scan

£395 – £850

NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing) is an advanced blood test that screens for certain chromosomal conditions during pregnancy. It is safe for both you and your baby, requiring only a simple blood sample from the mother.

At Hey Baby 4D, we offer a range of NIPT screening options to give you clear, reliable information and peace of mind, with support from our experienced and caring team throughout your journey.

What does NIPT screen for?

NIPT analyses small fragments of your baby’s DNA present in your bloodstream to assess the likelihood of specific chromosomal conditions.

Depending on the option you choose, screening can include:

  • Down’s syndrome (Trisomy 21)
  • Edwards’ syndrome (Trisomy 18)
  • Patau syndrome (Trisomy 13)
  • Sex chromosome conditions
  • Additional chromosomal variations
  • Selected microdeletion syndromes (with advanced screening)

Understanding what's included in NIPT Screening

We believe in being completely clear and transparent about what your NIPT screening includes, so you can make a confident and informed choice.

You may notice that some providers present their NIPT options by listing individual conditions separately. While this can make a package appear more comprehensive, it does not necessarily mean that additional testing is being carried out.

At Hey Baby 4D, we group certain conditions together to reflect how the screening is clinically performed — but we want to clearly explain what this includes so you can easily compare your options.

Sex chromosome screening – what does this mean?

All of our NIPT options include screening for sex chromosome aneuploidy.

This means we screen for the following conditions:

    • Turner syndrome (Monosomy X)
    • Klinefelter syndrome (XXY)
    • Triple X syndrome (XXX)
    • XYY syndrome

Some providers list these conditions individually as separate items. This is simply a different way of presenting the same screening, rather than offering additional tests.

We include this information so you can compare like-for-like and fully understand what is included in your screening.

You will also have the option to receive baby’s sex confirmation through XY chromosome analysis if you wish.

    Our NIPT Screening Options

    Future Health NIPT

This screening focuses on the three most common chromosomal conditions:

    • Trisomy 21 (Down’s syndrome)
Caused by an extra copy of chromosome 21, associated with learning disability and a range of health needs.
    • Trisomy 18 (Edwards’ syndrome)
Caused by an extra copy of chromosome 18, associated with significant medical complications.
    • Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome)
Caused by an extra copy of chromosome 13, associated with serious developmental and health conditions.

    Also included:

    • Sex chromosome aneuploidy screening (Turner, Klinefelter, Triple X and XYY syndromes)
    • Optional baby’s sex confirmation (XY chromosome screening)

    Future Health NIPT+

This more comprehensive screening analyses all 22 chromosome pairs (23 if male), including chromosomes 21, 18 and 13.

This provides a broader assessment of chromosomal variations across your baby’s DNA.

    Also included:

    • Sex chromosome aneuploidy screening (Turner, Klinefelter, Triple X and XYY syndromes)
    • Optional baby’s sex confirmation (XY chromosome screening)

    Future Health NIPT+ with Microdeletions

This is our most comprehensive NIPT screening option.

It includes analysis of all 22 chromosome pairs (23 if male), along with additional screening for specific microdeletion syndromes.

    Also included:

    • Sex chromosome aneuploidy screening (Turner, Klinefelter, Triple X and XYY syndromes)
    • Optional baby’s sex confirmation (XY chromosome screening)

    Additional microdeletion screening includes:

    • 1p36 deletion syndrome
    • Wolf Hirschhorn syndrome
    • Cri du Chat syndrome
    • Prader Willi syndrome
    • Angelman syndrome
    • DiGeorge syndrome

    When can I have NIPT?

NIPT can usually be performed from 10 weeks of pregnancy onwards.

    What happens at my appointment?

    Your appointment will include:

    • A consultation with a trained member of our team
    • A simple blood test
    • The opportunity to ask any questions about your screening

We aim to make your experience as comfortable, informative and reassuring as possible.

When will I receive my results?

Results are typically available within a few working days. Our team will contact you as soon as your results are ready and guide you through what they mean.

    Choosing the right NIPT option

If you’re unsure which screening is right for you, our experienced team is here to help.
We’ll guide you through your options in a clear and supportive way, so you can choose the level of screening that feels right for you and your pregnancy.

    Book your NIPT screening

You can book your NIPT appointment online at a time that suits you.

If you have any questions before booking, please don’t hesitate to contact your local Hey Baby 4D clinic — we’re here to support you every step of the way.

What If The Test Finds Something?

If the test shows that any of the conditions may be present, we will arrange for a Genetic Counsellor to contact you to discuss the results. Genetic Counsellors are specially trained professionals who will explain exactly what the results mean and talk through all the options available to you with total sensitivity and empathy.

N.B. Future Health NIPT is a screening test and although false positive/negative results are rare, they can occur. Invasive testing methods would still be recommended for confirmation purposes.

    How Much Does It Cost?

You can access this test through Hey Baby 4D for just £395. You may also be eligible for further discounts from other Hey Baby services.

The Test Is Not Suitable if:

    • You are a recipient of an organ or bone marrow transplant.
    • You have received any treatment involving the transfusion of heterologous cells in the last 12 months, for example a white cell blood transfusion or stem cell therapy.
    • You have cancer.
    • You carry a chromosomal imbalance (eg. aneuploidy, chromosomal deletion, mosaicism).
    • Your pregnancy has three or more foetuses.

    What is the process?

    • Our experienced phlebotomist will uncover your right or left arm.
    • A tourniquet will be placed around your upper arm. A tourniquet makes it easier for a needle to be placed in your veins by swelling the veins.
    • Once the tourniquet is fitted, a small quantity of blood will be drawn into tubes, using a needle.
    • After the blood draw is completed, a plaster will be placed onto the site; this can be removed after a couple of hours.
    • We will then post your sample to our partner laboratory for analysis.
    • You will receive your results 5-10 working days after the sample has been sent in the post. Your results will be emailed to you.

What do I do with my results?

Your results will include an doctor’s overview which should give you all the information you require. If you would like further information, we recommend you visit your GP.

    Preparing for your blood test?

    • Hydrate – Try to reduce caffeine intake and drink plenty of water before the day of your blood draw, making it easier for our phlebotomist to locate a vein for blood to be drawn from
    • Loose Clothing – Our phlebotomist will require access to your arm. Please wear loose clothing to make accessing your arm easier and more comfortable.
    • Medication – Please let our phlebotomist know if you are on blood thinners on the day of your blood draw.

    Frequently asked questions?

    How much blood is taken?

Approximately 8 ml of blood is taken; this is placed into a special tube for transportation to the laboratory.

    How long is the appointment?

The appointment is approximately 10 minutes long. Please ensure to arrive early to complete any necessary paperwork that may be outstanding.

What if I’m scared of needles?

It’s completely understandable to feel anxious about needles, but please be assured that you are in good hands. Our phlebotomist is experienced and compassionate, and they are here to support you every step of the way. Upon arrival to the clinic, please communicate your concerns to our phlebotomist who will take extra care when carrying out the blood draw.

What if you can’t get a blood sample on the day?

Occasionally, we may encounter difficulty in obtaining a blood sample from you. There can be various reasons for this, including insufficient hydration, feeling cold, or having undergone another blood test recently.  We’ll always offer you another appointment so that we can make another attempt at obtaining the sample.

From booking to the end of the appointment Hey Baby was professional polite and welcoming! The lady who looked after us, Blessing, was very friendly, polite and shared the excitement with us. She went above and beyond to try and find the sex of our baby for us as they were being a little stubborn. She explained all of the measurements to us and told us each measurement was normal and good which was nice to hear and reassuring. The reception ladies were amazing and professional too! Would definitely come again if/when we have another!thank you all so much
