The primary objective of this scan is to check the wellbeing of your baby.

Determine the wellbeing of your baby from 16 weeks and confirm their sex; with a free 4D preview included! We always aim to provide you with a fun and friendly experience, whilst only ever performing your scan by a qualified, experienced, and registered obstetric sonographer.

What’s included with your Wellbeing & Gender Scan:

  • Up to 10 exclusive minutes with our qualified sonographer where you can ask any questions you like!
  • Locate your pregnancy
  • See and listen to your baby’s heartbeat
  • A wellbeing check will be performed to review your baby’s progress
  • Receive a scan report & wellbeing form which includes your placenta position
  • Find out the sex of your baby with our EXCLUSIVE gender reveal lighting! The room will light up pink for a girl or blue for a boy!
  • 1 x black & white printed photo to take home (additional prints available at £5 each)

Rescans:

If we are unable to confirm the sex of your baby, we may offer you one free rescan at a later date*. A rescan will not apply if you are less than 16 weeks’ gestation on the day of your initial appointment.

Please note:

  • We are only able to provide scans to persons over the age of 18
  • The video recording has no audio capability
  • If you are planning a gender reveal party, please allow a couple of days after your scan in case a rescan is required

Preparing for your Gender Scan

                                

You can prepare for your gender scan by ensuring that you are properly hydrated in the 24 hours prior to your appointment. Please arrive to your appointment with a full bladder.

Please ensure that you arrive 5 minutes early for your scan in order to complete the necessary paperwork. Failure to do so may result in your appointment time being reduced.

Please bring your pregnancy notes with you. We may not need them, but it is helpful if our qualified sonographers need to refer to them at any stage during your gender scan.

Additional images, digital downloads of your scan images and a variety of products are available at Hey Baby 4D Southend to purchase on the day.

We’ve used Hey Baby for an early reassurance scan, gender scan and today a 4D scan. I couldn’t fault any of these appointments, the front desk are always warm and welcoming and the technicians in the room are reassuring, friendly and the whole experience is genuinely very enjoyable. Our 4D scan was incredible and I was so impressed with the images captured and didn’t realise how many we got digitally afterwards as well as the videos. They were having tech issues today but we only knew because they’d shared this with us which meant there was a slight delay to being seen but this was no problem to us, however they were very generous due to the appointment being a bit late and provided us an additional print free of charge which we were not expecting and really appreciated the gesture despite the issue being out of their control (and also resolved very quickly). We also purchased a heartbeat bear today and again were very impressed with the quality and sound. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to book private scans, well worth every penny.

This is the second pregnancy we have used Hey Baby for 4D scan and I can’t fault them. Great service and amazing images. This time we even added the gender reveal as well. Would and have always recommended for private scans.

Best experience having the private reassurance scan. The staff were lovely and really helpful. The clinic itself was very clean and professional. You definitely get what you pay for! Recommend to any mums wanting an early scan!

Can't recommend Hey Baby Southend enough!I booked my early pregnancy scan the moment I could due to anxiety following previous losses.The team were amazing and did everything they could to calm and reassure me.Since then I have attended to have a private gender blood test and a reassurance scan in between 6-12 weeks.I'm now pleased to be over half way and can't wait to go back for a 4D binding scan.The team have been nothing but fantastic and kind throughout and are perfect for anyone who has concerns or are having their first baby and don't know what to expect.

Been to Hey Baby 4D Southend 3 times now. Our first time was for an early reassurance scan which was great and did exactly as described by reassuring us that everything was going well.Our second time was for a 4D scan. Unfortunately baby was in an awkward position so the staff advised different exercises to hopefully get baby in a better position and even allowed me to go for a walk and come back to try again. We got some better photos but still not 100% clear due to baby's position and my anterior placenta but they kindly invited us back for a free rescan to try again. We eventually got some better photos and a lovely heartbeat bear and we're so thankful to ALL the staff at Hey Baby for being so patient and not rushing us. We couldn't have asked for more! Thank you!

I have now had two scans at Hey Baby 4D Southend (6 weeks early pregnancy check up and 16 week gender scan). They have been amazing on both occasions.They made me feel very comfortable and have had a giggle both times.The facilities are clean and welcoming.I would definitely recommend them, and will definitely be going back for a 4D scan with them .
