Confirm your pregnancy viability and visualise the heartbeat from just 6-12 weeks with our viability scan. A good option if you are anxious, suffered miscarriages or had a previous ectopic pregnancy.
Our early reassurance scan is designed to check the wellbeing of your baby and provide you with peace of mind from as early as 6 weeks gestation, through to 16 weeks. You have an additional ten minutes with the sonographer vs the viability scan, so have more opportunity to look at areas like your ovaries and cervix, as well as more time to ask the sonographer your key questions. We always aim to provide you with a reassuring and friendly experience, whilst only ever performing your scan by a qualified, experienced, and registered obstetric sonographer.
EARLY REASSURANCE SCAN

Appointment duration: 20 minutes

- Receive a scan report and wellbeing form which includes your placenta position
- 2 x image prints of your choice to take home

VIABILITY SCAN
Scan length: approx. 5 minutes
Appointment duration: 10 minutes
Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time to ensure the informed consent form is filled-out in time. If you are late for your Viability scan, your appointment may have to be re-arranged at a later time or date.

- Locate your pregnancy
- See your baby’s heartbeat
- Date your pregnancy – to confirm how far along you are
- Confirm single or multiple pregnancy
- A wellbeing check will be performed to review your baby’s progress
- Receive a scan report and wellbeing form which includes your placenta position
- 1 x image print to take home

Please note:
- We are only able to provide scans to persons over the age of 18
- The video recording has no audio capability
You must still attend your routine scans with the NHS.
Preparing for your early reassurance and viability scan
You can prepare for your early reassurance or viability scan by ensuring that you are properly hydrated in the 24 hours before your appointment. Please arrive with a full bladder.
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete your paperwork
Please bring your pregnancy notes with you. We may not need them, but it is helpful if our qualified sonographers need to refer to them at any stage during your early reassurance scan.
It is sometimes necessary during the earlier stages of pregnancy to offer an internal scan. This is because it can be difficult to see the fetus via the abdomen at this stage. Many factors influence this (including hydration). As with all of our scans, you have the right to refuse or stop the procedure at any time.

Finding Hey Baby 4D Sutton
Located on Stafford Road, just off the main high street, Woodcote Road, in Sutton, finding Hey Baby 4D Sutton is convenient. Our clinic is a short ten-minute walk from Wallington train station, and various bus stops are nearby, including stops for the 154, 157, and 455 buses. This provides easy access from Sutton, Croydon, and Merton.
We offer free on-street parking outside the clinic for up to one hour. On Sundays, parking is free, and there is also free parking available on side roads less than a five-minute walk away.
